We went to Zimbabwe for one night to see Victoria falls from that side. The place is having all kinds of civil war and political problems and there was tension in the air. So one day to see the falls was enough time spent in Zimbabwe. The falls are 3 times larger than Niagara falls. They spread along an enormous gorge, the river is wide and slow above the falls, and it spreads out even further as it begins its plunge into a deep gorge. The zim side had incredible views of both the gorge and the falls, and some nice walking in the protected forests. There are monkeys and the spray is so heavy it gives the place a rainforest feel, and you will most definitely get soaked. The guide book warns dont wear a white t-shirt, and they are right!
