IT poured down rain the whole time so I did not see much of the city. I left Nairobi at Midnight and at 7am arrived in Dubai, the capital of United Arab Emirates. A little trivia about me is that about 10 years ago I went on a few dates with a prince of United Arab Emirates. He was a very nice guy who gave me some very beautiful flowers, but I was not interested in entering his harem. I had to leave Dubai at 3am, which gave me 20 hours to visit the city. Dubai was a very modern and nice place to visits. They are now constructing the tallest building in the world when it is finished. The old part of the city did have a great spice market and the gold souk both of which harked of days of old when dubai was a major trading port, I guess it still is, but now has better prices on electronics and other high end goods then I have seen since hong kong. They have lots of interesting architectural designs such buildings in the shapes of sail boats, ships, planes, pyramids . Actually it is starting to look a bit like Vegas. - Sarah Journal Entry Dubai Posted On: 6/4/2005
